Gunmen kidnap two bishops in Syria

Bishops of the Greek and Syriac Orthodox churches  have been kidnapped, and little else is known at this point.  For more info, go here.

Please keep the people of Syria in your prayers, particularly the Christians who are undergoing untold persecution for their faith.

I wonder how long it will take for the media to make a big deal out of this, as if it were a reversal on Pope Francis' positions.  We'll see...

Happy St. George Day, Everybody!

Today's the feast day of one of my favorite saints, (who happens to be the namesake of my dog, my car, and my teddy bear... long story...).  It also is the patron saint of our Holy Father, Pope Francis, whose baptismal name is "Jorge."  Because of that, today is a Vatican holiday... I wish seminaries followed the vatican's schedule.  :-)
